Hi, I chose to study Japanese because I would like to learn another Asian language while at Princeton. Moreover, I have more of a preference for learning Asian languages than other languages such as Spanish or French. I'm excited to learn enough Japanese to survive after this year. As for the long term, it'll be interesting to be able to speak Chinese, Korean, and Japanese (fairly well) after I graduate from Princeton. The first few days of class have been more difficult because we haven't done extensive speaking practice yet, and Hiragana also is too curvy for me. ではまた! (dewamata: See you later!)
Glad to hear that you also like learning languages! I speak French and some other languages. I think it's actually easier to learn roman languages than Asian languages. がんばろう!
